New sources of pelletizers, screen changers, melt pumps.

Two firms recently expanded their product lines with downstream auxiliaries for compounding. First, CRG Logics Inc., a maker of materials-handling and blending equipment in Appleton, Wis., now offers screen changers and water-ring and underwater pelletizers from Plast Hi. Tec. SrL of Italy. These products are said to introduce new technologies to the U.S. market. For example, the PHT/CRG screen changers combine continuous with automatic operation. Screens of 1.5 to 10 in. diam. feed off a continuous reel that is advanced manually when needed. Meanwhile, PHT/CRG water-ring pelletizers include a variable-speed cutting head and new double-screened water filtration. Second, the recently formed Extrusion Group of ACS Group, Wood Dale, Ill., is now offering its first screen changers, melt pumps, and water-ring pelletizers, built by a domestic supplier under private label.
