SAN CLEMENTE San Clemente (săn klĭmĕn`tē), city (1990 pop. 41,100), Orange co., S Calif., on the Pacific coast; inc. 1928. Camp Pendleton, a large U.S. marine base, adjoins the city, which is chiefly residential. , Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 1994--Businesses that rely on direct mail marketing can now offset the 1995 postal rate increases by utilizing a new PC-based mailing list An automated e-mail system on the Internet, which is maintained by subject matter. There are thousands of such lists that reach millions of individuals and businesses. New users generally subscribe by sending an e-mail with the word "subscribe" in it and subsequently receive all new  management software program from MAILER'S Software.

Called MAILER'S+4, it automatically caluculates the cost of mailings with the new 1995 postal rates.

The comprehensive, easy-to-use software supports both Windows and DOS Graphical-User Interfaces (GUI (Graphical User Interface) A graphics-based user interface that incorporates movable windows, icons and a mouse. The ability to resize application windows and change style and size of fonts are the significant advantages of a GUI vs. a character-based interface. ). It verifies any address in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America.  lists and print barcoded labels for the best postal discounts. Quarterly updates of MAILER'S+4, incorporating the latest postal requirements and forms, are released in February, May, August and November.

for $249.00, the new MAILER'S+4 software package also includes automatic label printing for dot matrix and laser printers in more than 20 different formats, as well as automatic duplicate elimination by name or address.

"The new postage rates will increase mailing costs by 10% for first class and 14% for third class mail," said Raymond F. Melissa, MAILER'S Software president. "This increase could wipe out all the profit in many direct mail marketing campaigns . The most cost-effective way to help offset this increase is by using software to add ZIP+4 codes, Carrier Route codes and to presort a mailing list. Further savings can be obtained by eliminating the duplicates from mailing lists, since the typical mailing list has from seven to 15 percent duplications. Businesses can save thousands of dollars annually on printing and postage costs by using this program."

MAILER'S+4 automatic duplicate search feature provides users with two modes of operation. One mode eliminates mailing more than one piece to a person at an address. The other mode, called "householding," eliminates mailing more than one piece to an address.

MAILER'S+4 is available on CD-ROM and requires DOS or Windows 3.1, 4MB RAM and 9MB of free space on the hard drive. Priced at $249.00, the updated version with 1995 postal rates will be available on Dec. 15, 1994 directly from MAILER'S Software or authorized au·thor·ize
