New shops to open at JFK Terminal 4. (Profile of the Week: Starr Associates LLP).

JFK IAT LLC, the private consortium that developed and now operates the new Terminal 4 at JFK International Airport, announced that Aer Rianta International will join Saveria JFK Inc.- owned by Rakesh Sardana-in a seven-year concession, operating 14 speciality fashion, gift and gourmet shops at Terminal 4 at New York's JFK Airport.

The first four shops are due to open in July 2003, with the remainder opening by November 2003. The concepts will include leading fashion brands, jewellery and gifts, gourmet and wine, kids clothing and toys. The shops are located on the landside of the terminal and, when completed, will complement existing offerings such as WHSmith, DFS, The Metropolitan Museum of Art Store and others.

"We are pleased to offer passengers an unparalleled array of retail concessions that add to the ambiance of what is surely the most comfortable and modem facility at JFK International Airport," said Carol Fish, director, of retail marketing for JFK IAT. "We are looking forward to finishing the build-out in the retail hall and using the full capacities of the new terminal to provide the best possible travel experience."

Aer Rianta International which is part of the Aer Rianta Group and based in Ireland, has an extensive presence at Dublin and Shannon Airports, world-renowned for their duty free offerings, and has operations in Russia, Ukraine the Middle East and six locations across Canada. The expansion into the United States is seen as a natural extension of its North America business.
