New shelter for abandoned kids.


The Centre jeunesse de la Monteregie, an organization offering specialized services for youth, has opened La Maison L'Escargot, the 'Snail House', in Longeuil. It is the first resource for lodging, treatment and specialized services for children in abandonment situations and presenting severe attachment disorder at·tach·ment disorder

A behavioral disorder caused by the lack of an emotionally secure attachment to a caregiver in the first two years of life, characterized by an inability to form healthy relationships.

The project is jointly run with Sainte-Justine Hospital and Centre jeunesse de Montreal--Institut Universitaire.
