New reverend mother chosen for SSJD.Sr. Elizabeth Ann Eckert is the new reverend mother of the Anglican Sisterhood of St. John the Divine The Sisterhood of St. John the Divine is a religious community of nuns in the Anglican Church of Canada. Founded in Toronto in 1884 by Mother Hannah Grier Coome, the order ministers at St. (SSJD), succeeding Sr. Constance Joanna Gefvert. Sr. Elizabeth Ann assumes her new role as the sixth reverend mother in mid-April. A novitiate director and since 2000, assistant to Sr. Constance Joanna, she was elected reverend mother Jan. 12.
