The 2004-2005 collection of Test Methods, published in March 2004, is available on CD. A print-on-demand version of either the Test Methods or the TIPs set, current and updated as of the date printed, is also available. TEST METHOD PROPOSAL

A proposal has been made to split out the rigid support method from T 809 "Flat Crush of Corrugating Medium (CMT test)." A revision of T 809 with the rigid support method eliminated is currently in ballot. A new Standard-Specific Interest Group (SSIG) needs to be formed to ballot the new method.

The scope of this method is as follows: This method describes a procedure for measuring the crushing resistance of a laboratory fluted strip of corrugating medium, and provides a means of estimating, in the laboratory, the potential flat crush resistance of a corrugated board. Other grades may not correlate with their potential.

Any TAPPI members who are interested in this method may join the Standard-Specific Interest Group (SSIG) to receive ballots when this method is ready for vote.
