New offer the right Rae to get Queens back up.

THE consortium whose bid to take control of Queen of the South was rejected by chairman David Rae have made a fresh bid to buy the relegated club.

Carlisle-based Media ProSports have tabled a second offer for Rae's 30 per cent majority stake.

Jonathan Hope - the agent representing the group - said: "We decided to put another offer in. It's the same offer as the one before.

"The club said they wanted local business to come forward but that hasn't been forthcoming.

"We will keep them fulltime and get them back up. If that's not in the best interests of the club then I don't know what is.

"We could build the fanbase up. We want to bring the community closer. It's a no-brainer.

"But we need to get past the first hurdle. We're only buying one man's shares - not the whole cub."
