New merged engineering organization launches titles.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is a British professional body for those working in engineering and technology in the United Kingdom and worldwide.  (London/ Edison, NJ), an entity formed earlier this year through the merger of Institution of Electrical Engineers This is a list of electrical engineers, people who made contributions to electrical engineering or computer engineering.

) and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (liE), has launched one new title and will begin the publication of five other new journals beginning in 2007.

"Micro and Nano Letters" is published quarterly and covers fundamental and applied research related to micro-and nano-scale science and technology. It will concentrate on the latest advances in engineering, physical, chemical, biological and material science, technology and applications of miniature and ultra-miniature structures and systems. The first issue includes articles on such topics as nanowires, three-dimensional probing, fuel cells, diagnostic advances, and imprinting imprinting, acquisition of behavior in many animal species, in which, at a critical period early in life, the animals form strong and lasting attachments. Imprinting is important for normal social development. , among others. An annual subscription costs $900.

Both "IET IET Institution of Engineering and Technology (merged name of IEE and IIE)
IET Initial Entry Training
IET Image Enhancement Technology
IET Institute of Environmental Technology (Houston, TX)
Renewable Power Generation" and "IET Synthetic Biology" will launch in March and will be produced quarterly in 2007, going to six times a year in 2008. An annual subscription to either title costs $1195. "IET Synthetic Biology" carries information on studies in synthetic cell biology and the interaction within and between cells. Content includes coverage of genomics, proteomics, cells, tissue, systems, signals, experimental data analysis, modeling and simulation, methodologies, networks and pathways.

"IET Renewable Power Generation" is designed as a forum for the publication of current practice and future developments in the renewable electric power generation, transmission and distribution industries. Content includes information on hydropower hy·dro·pow·er

, wind power, biomass, solar power and marine power technologies, project types and their feasibility, environmental considerations, capital costs, generating costs, political and legislative barriers for each technology, and prospects for future growth.

Also, "IEE Proceedings Vision, Image & Signal Processing" will split into three new titles beginning in 2007. "IET Computer Vision" covers such topics as the reconstruction of 3D depth information, estimation of object motion, attribute-based recognition and high-level sceen understanding. "IET Image Processing" will cover image enhancement See image editing.  and restoration, feature extraction, low-level segmentation and color and texture analysis. Finally, "IET Signal Processing" will cover advances in single and multidimensional, linear and non-linear digital filters and filter banks, signal transformation techniques, spectral analysis, system modeling, the application of chaos theory chaos theory, in mathematics, physics, and other fields, a set of ideas that attempts to reveal structure in aperiodic, unpredictable dynamic systems such as cloud formation or the fluctuation of biological populations. , and neural network-based approaches to signal processing. All three titles will be published six times a year.
