New mental health resource for nursing students.A self-directed learning tool for undergraduate nursing, occupational therapy and social work students wanting to increase their understanding of child and adolescent mental health issues has been developed by the University of Auckland Not to be confused with Auckland University of Technology. The capital is Wellington; the largest city and leading port is Auckland. : An overview has been produced in consultation with three main advisory groups: child and adolescent mental health experts; Maori child and adolescent mental health clinicians; and nursing, occupational therapy and social work educators from various educational institutions throughout the country. It is designed for either independent and/or group study. Released earlier this year, the resource consists of a workbook work·book n. 1. A booklet containing problems and exercises that a student may work directly on the pages. 2. A manual containing operating instructions, as for an appliance or machine. 3. and three CDs. It also includes learning exercises and suggested answers. The CDs use video and audio clips, graphics and pictures to engage readers/learners. Lecturers and students throughout New Zealand participated in the workshops that formed the basis of the resource, which was partially funded by the Ministry of Health.
