New medical titles from Blackwell Publishing.

Blackwell Publishing (Malden, MA) has begun the publication of three new medical journals, including "Congenital Heart Diseases," "International Journal of Older People Nursing" and "International Journal of Stroke."

"Congenital Heart Disease: Clinical Studies from Fetus to Adulthood" focuses on heart disease in children and adults and the related advances in the treatment of such malfunctions. Launched in January, the journal publishes articles on heart disease as it relates to the following areas: clinical pediatric and adult cardiology, cardiac imaging, preventive cardiology, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, surgery, long-term follow-up, exercise and exercise physiology, post-op and critical care, and common disorders. It will be published six times a year and an annual subscription costs $240 for individuals and $440 for institutions.

"International Journal of Older People" is a quarterly journal designed to be a forum for advancing knowledge in gerontological nursing and to help nurses develop and inform their practice and engage in debates about the health and social care services for older people. It consists on two main sections: scholarly articles and peer-reviewed practice development. An annual subscription costs $119 for individuals and $306 for institutions.

Also to be published quarterly, "International Journal of Stroke" concentrates on the clinical aspects of stroke and advances applicable throughout the world as well as those that may be more important in certain regions. Content covers therapies, angioplasty and stenting, the genetics of stroke and ultrasound and thrombolysis. Editorial segments include original contributions from clinical and basic science researchers, reports on meetings, new trials and stroke societies, world press reports, concise responses from medical experts, and topical reviews. An annual subscription costs $146 for individuals and $321 for institutions.
