New lead limits for kids' products.


Stricter federal lead limits have been set by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008. Aimed to protect children while boosting consumer confidence, the law's broad scope could impact metalcasting facilities' products. Metalcasters should assess their products to determine if they will be affected. The requirements that became effective on Aug. 14 limit lead content in children's products to 300 parts per million parts per million
