New law to help addicts.

Proposed rules on how to govern Britain's gambling industry in the future are being published today.

The draft Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice aim to combat crime and addiction, ensure gambling is fair and regulate online gaming websites - which have seen a huge growth in recent years - for the first time.

A spokesman for the Gambling Commission said the measures followed the passing of the Gambling Act 2005, which relaxes some gambling laws and gives the green light for more casinos to open.
