New kid.

Dear Kids,

My family just moved, and I am going to a new school. There is a boy there who calls me "New Kid!" What should I do? Every morning, I don't want to go to school. I feel very sad.

Alison

Kutztown, Pennsylvania

Calvin: Look at him and tell him that is not your name. If that does not work, ignore him. If he sees it's not bothering you, he will eventually quit.

Bethany: If I were you, the next time he called me that I would say, "Yes, I am a new kid. But please do not call me that. Call me Alison. What is your name?"

Brandi: I understand where you are coming from. Just pay no attention to this boy, and pretty soon he will stop calling you "New Kid" because he knows it is not bothering you.

Michael: I'd tell the boy not to think of you as a new kid and to think of you as a new friend. Then ask him how he would feel being called "New Kid."

Jordan: I know how you feel. I have been in the same situation. When people called me names, I just ignored them, and eventually they stopped. I hope it will work out just as well for you as it worked out for me.
