New journal from Taylor & Francis, "Journal of Digital Forensic Practice," to launch in 2006.

Taylor & Francis Group (Philadelphia, PA), a unit of T&F Informa (London), will begin the publication of the "Journal of Digital Forensic Practice" later in the first quarter of 2006. The new journal will be produced four times a year and an annual subscription costs $295 for institutions and $85 for individuals.

Designed to assist digital investigation and forensic professionals in their day-to-day practice, the new journal is designed to be a resource for practitioners of digital investigation, digital forensic science, electronic fraud investigation and cyber crime and cyber terror investigation and analysis. T&F said articles will focus specifically on practical knowledge targeting both the private and public sectors.

Editorial will include information and articles on such topics as: tools and techniques, North American and international law and case law, management and policy, investigation, cyber terror, digital incident response and post mortems, digital video and audio forensics forensics n. public speaking or argumentation., emerging digital forensic and investigative technologies and procedures, network forensics, software forensics, forensic and investigative training, application of digital forensics to intelligence, and steganography Hiding a message within an image, audio or video file. Used as an alternate to encryption, it takes advantage of unused bits within the file structure or bits that are mostly undetectable if altered. A steganographic message rides secretly to its destination, unlike encrypted messages, which although undecipherable without the decryption key, can be identified as encrypted.
