) has begun the publication of "Global Trade and Customs Journal," a new magazine designed to meet the needs of professionals working in the legal and regulatory trade and custom environments. It will be published ten times a year and an annual print subscription costs $533. An annual combined print/online subscription costs $693.

The new title is targeted to international trade and customs lawyers and consultants, trade compliance and customs personnel, and importers and exporters "who want to stay ahead of legal and compliance-based developments," Kluwer said. Editor Edwin Vermulst said the journal's mission is to keep readers current and to offer "reliable" information that ensures they are able to "protect their clients, companies or organizations from development that could adversely affect their interests.

Each issue of the journal will carry commentary and analysis of major topics impacting trade and customs, and guidance on "critical areas of real-world concern." Editorial covers such topics as: preparing for the phase out of quotas and safeguards on Chinese imports; avoiding dumping dumping, selling goods at less than the normal price, usually as exports in international trade. It may be done by a producer, a group of producers, or a nation.  allegations; maximizing cost-savings under free trade agreements; structuring a global export compliance program; European import/export compliance; protecting IP rights through customs procedures; and, adapting to the U.S. Compliance Assessment Team Program.

Among its 38 other legal and business journals, Kluwer also produces "Journal of World Trade," "World Competition" and "World Trade and Arbitration arbitration
