New investments in mine Sasa.

The management of the mine Sasa of Makedonska Kamenica, being owned by Solvey Industry, announced new investments of 7-8 million euros, which would create another 700 jobs.

Sasa officials say that the production plan of 870,000 tons of lead

and zinc ore a year has been accomplished in less than eight months.

According to Maksim Prohorov, director for investments at Sasa, although the economic crisis is felt in this mine, too, production is nevertheless continuing, the lead and zinc ore is being regularly placed, and the ore digging is being constantly expanded.

At the end of 2008, the management of Sasa was granted a license for detailed geological investigation at new sites, and according to the team of experts working on that project the ore deposits are abundant, which prolongs the mine's useful life.
