During the early/mid 1930s, it was one of the two airfields (with Liverpool Speke) handling scheduled services for the Merseyside region. Trust was bitterly disappointed when the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF HLF Heritage Lottery Fund HLF Hapag Lloyd Flug (German airline) HLF Himalayan Light Foundation HLF Hawaiian Longboard Federation HLF High-Level Format HLF Home Location Function HLF Hook Length Formula ) rejected its bid for pounds 6.5m grant. The grant was vital to secure match funding to transform a collection of listed World War I hangar buildings into a museum, training and exhibition complex. Now, the trust has unveiled plans to restart the project in three phases. It is applying to the HLF for a pounds 1m grant to transform the first of the three hangars. If the bid is successful, the trust will make separate funding bids for the other two hangars. Trust spokesman Stephen McGovern said: "We are optimistic op·ti·mist n. 1. One who usually expects a favorable outcome. 2. A believer in philosophical optimism. op this new strategy will secure us the funding we need. The HLF were impressed with our overall plan but I think the proposals were a little too much all at once. We are breaking down the plans and phasing them. "Our partners in the project all support the revised business plan. We will still achieve the same end result - the timescale timescale Noun the period of time within which events occur or are due to occur timescale n → délais mpl timescale time (Brit) n will just be a little longer." The first funding bid, which must be lodged by June, is for a heritage centre featuring historic aircraft and artefacts, including a Russian bi-plane and a replica Hurricane aircraft. The trust hopes to submit the grant applications in 12 monthly intervals. Under the plans, a second hangar will be used as a training facility for young people in aviation-related trades such as engineering, woodwork and metalwork metalwork. Copper, gold, and silver were probably fashioned into ornaments and amulets as early as the Neolithic period. Goldwork and silverwork have since employed the talents of leading artisans and artists in making jewelry, plate, inlays, and sculpture. . A third hangar will be rented out as a commercial exhibition centre for trade fairs. Together, the hangars would provide 10,300sqm of floor space. |
