The new title will be produced six times a year with an initial controlled circulation of 20,000.

The magazine is being targeted to healthcare and related professionals whose work impacts suicide prevention or the life of suicidal individuals, including social and human service specialists, public policy and government relations executives, educators, researchers, legal and law enforcement professionals, counselors, scholars and related professionals in such fields as violence prevention, benefits administration, and emergency and crisis intervention.

The magazine's mission is to "foster an exchange of views from diverse perspectives and audiences so as to drive suicide prevention forward." Editorial will include information on issues, trends and "state-of-the-science" on suicide prevention from a variety of viewpoints. Content will cover a range of topics, including the public health threat of suicide, suicide among rural and elderly populations, correctional prevention, the role of schools in prevention and youth suicide, and gender issues.
