New Facility in Canada To Increase Capacity Of Dynacast, Inc.

A plant that will increase capacity 50% over the next three to five years has been opened in Pointe-Claire, Quebec Pointe-Claire is a municipality in southwestern Quebec, Canada; population 29,286 (Statistics Canada, 2001). Along with the other municipalities on the island of Montreal, it was merged with the city of Montreal on January 1, 2002 by the provincial government. , by Dynacast, Inc., a producer of metal diecast and plastic molded components.

The 64,000-sq-ft facility replaces a 26,000-sq-ft plant in Lachine, Quebec, which had been operating for the past 23 years as Dynacast's firt Canadian facility. The company also operates a plant in Brockville, Ontario Brockville is located in the Thousand Islands region on the St. Lawrence River in Leeds & Grenville County, Eastern Ontario, Canada.

Known as the "City of the 1000 Islands", Brockville is located on the north shore of the St.

The Lachine plant was replaced because it had become overtaxed in recent years as demand for miniature and conventional zinc diecastings and injection molded plastics rose substantially, according to according to

In addition to incorporating more Dynacast proprietary production equipment and conventional machines, the Pointe-Claire plant provides a more efficient layout than at Lachine.

The plant employs two heat recovery systems to reduce costs and conserve energy. It also has sound enclosures to reduce noise.
