The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is a residential summer camp and year-round center for seriously ill children located in Ashford, Connecticut. All services are provided free of charge based upon contributions received from thousands of individuals, and hundreds of corporations, announced the appointment of James
Canton as executive director effective January 2002. Canton has had a
long relationship with the camp since it began in 1988. During that time
he has been a counselor, unit leader, assistant director, and camp
director. He graduated from Stanford University Stanford University, at Stanford, Calif.; coeducational; chartered 1885, opened 1891 as Leland Stanford Junior Univ. (still the legal name). The original campus was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. David Starr Jordan was its first president. with a BA. in humanities
and received a master's in theology from Yale Divinity School The main mission of Yale College at its founding in 1701 was religious training. In its charter, it was designed as a school "wherein Youth may be instructed in the Arts & Sciences who through the blessing of Almighty God may be fitted for Publick employment both in Church & Civil State. .
