New director of music for cathedral.

A NEW Director of Music has been appointed at the Metropolitan Cathedral.

Timothy Noon has been appointed in succession to Terence Duffy, who is due to retire at the end of July.

Mr Noon Mr Noon is an unfinished novel by the English writer, D. H. Lawrence. It appears to have been drafted in 1920 and 1921 and then abandoned by the author. It consists of two parts.  is currently organist and Master of Choristers at St David's Cathedral Not to be confused with St David's Cathedral (Hobart).

St David's Cathedral (Welsh: Eglwys Gadeiriol Tyddewi) is situated in St David's in the county of Pembrokeshire, on the most westerly point of Wales.
, Pembrokeshire, and will take up his new post in September.

The 33-year-old fath-er-of-two began his career as a chorister in Hereford Cathedral The current Hereford Cathedral, located at Hereford in England, United Kingdom, dates from 1079. Its most famous treasure is Mappa Mundi, a mediƦval map of the world dating from the 13th century.  Choir, learning the organ with Dr Roy Massey

At 17 he was appointed organ scholar of Canterbury Cathedral, and the year after became organ scholar at Christ Church, Oxford, where he took a degree in music.

On graduating with First

Class Honours, he was appointed sub-organist of St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin.

He returned to Canterbury as assistant organist in January 1997 where, as well as work at the cathedral, Mr Noon was organist of the King's School and Musical Director of The Canterbury Singers.

In 2001 he was appointed to St David's Cathedral.
