New controls & new sizes of two-platen presses.

A new control system, two new sizes of hydraulic two-platen presses, and an upgrade to a micro-molding press are the latest from Battenfeld in Austria (U.S. office in South Elgin, Ill.). First, Battenfeld is introducing its new Unilog B6 control, which it says is faster, more accurate, and more reliable than the previous Unilog B4 system. Windows XP-based B6 displays the same graphic icons as the B4 on its 15-in. touchscreen See touch screen. . Capable of remote monitoring (protocol) remote monitoring - (RMON) A network management protocol that allows network information to be gathered at a single computer. Whereas SNMP gathers network data from a single type of Management Information Base (MIB), RMON 1 defines nine additional MIBs that provide a  and maintenance, the new control will be standard on Battenfeld's HM series of two-platen machines.

Meanwhile, Battenfeld is adding two new models to its HM line with the HM 320 (352 U.S. tons) and HM 500 (550 tons), which will be offered in versions for multi-component molding. The presses come with a 22:1 L/D L/D Labor and Delivery

Battenfeld also upgraded its all-electric Microsystem 50 press for molding high-precision micro components. Its injection unit has a new drive system with an electronic cam disk that increases acceleration and deceleration deceleration /de·cel·er·a·tion/ (de-sel?er-a´shun) decrease in rate or speed.
