New condos capture spirit of West Harlem revitalization.Spector Group Architects, NYC, is capturing all the spirit of the West harlem revitalization with its new WA WA - Washington (state; US postal abbreviation) WA - AIRMET WA - Namibia WA - Wabash Railroad Company WA - Waferboard Association Wa - Wakhi (linguistics) WA - Wallcoverings Association WA - War Arranger (gaming) WA - Warning Areas WA - Washer, Air WA - Wassenaar Arrangement WA - Water Authority WA - Watershed Analysis WA - Wavelength Allocation WA - Weapon Assignment WA - Weapons Analyst WA - Weapons Assembly WA - Wearing Apparel Condominiums. WA projects all the luxury and amenities of a midtown residential building, but it's located in one of the last bastions of residential development in NYC: West Harlem. Spector Group designed a facade of cast stone, brick and glass mesh with irregular windows in a Mondrian-like pattern resulting in a blend of art and architecture bound to attract the rising number of young urbanites moving uptown. WA is named for owners Trevor Wittingham and David Atkinson, two men who've done business in Harlem for 30 years, including purchasing the restaurant on 127th Street & 7th Avenue formerly owned by Sidney Poitier and Harry Belafonte. With David, a real estate broker and Trevor, the business owner, the Spector Group project team has maximized square footage at WA to create the ideal loft-like living space. Twelve-foot coffered ceilings, energy efficient glass, dark wood floors and stone and marble finishes encompass each unit, featuring wrap around terraces for the largest ones. Fitness room and rooftop pool with outdoor sundecks are designed to encourage interaction and entertainment amongst a population on the move. Upon entry, the slate lobby with floating free form ceiling and dark woods suggests a Far Eastern influence, while the building's exterior coloration pays homage to the surrounding community. And the Wittingham Atkinson team are the quintessential tenants of WA, planning to inhabit the building themselves. With a finger on the pulse of the people of the community, they plan to offer inside incentives to renters currently residing in a nearby building owned by Wittingham. Offering both residential and commercial condominiums at WA, the ownership team's forward thinking is a reflection of their commitment to the community. |
