New chief at WTC Memorial.


World Trade Center Memorial Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Gretchen Dykstra Gretchen Dykstra is the previous President and CEO of the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation. The former Commissioner of New York City's Department of Consumer Affairs, Dykstra left that post in April of 2005 to head up the foundation, which is entrusted with raising funds for  announced the appointment of Addie Guttag as Senior Vice President of Development.

"Our first priority is to raise funds to construct a memorial to honor those who died, those who helped, and those who cared," Foundation President Gretchen Dykstra said.

"Addie Guttag will lead our development efforts and make sure that we achieve our ambitious goal of raising $500 million. Addie brings with her a wealth of development experience which will prove invaluable to our efforts.

"I look forward to working with Addie to build a memorial that will forever honor the lives lost and the humanity which overcame terror."

As Senior Vice President of Development, Ms. Guttag will oversee the Foundation's efforts to raise $500 million.

She will spearhead national and international fundraising efforts, working with individual donors and corporations.

"It is a privilege to help build the memorial which will remember the thousands of lives lost during these horrific attacks," Ms. Guttag said. "The magnitude of this loss touched people worldwide.

"I am honored to work with supporters from all over America, and across the globe, to realize our goal."

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Guttag was a management, marketing and development consultant. Her clients included the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative A public-private partnership dedicated to producing a preventive vaccine against HIV infection, suitable for use in the most affected developing countries. To date, no such vaccine exists but scientific consensus suggests that its development is feasible. , Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center is a medical research institution dedicated to finding a cure for HIV/AIDS. It is headed by prominent scientist Dr. David Ho, and located in New York City. , the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, Doctors Without Borders Doctors Without Borders, Fr. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), international organization that provides emergency medical assistance to people suffering from a natural or societal disaster, such as an earthquake or war. , and the Gill Foundation.

Ms. Guttag has also served as the Vice President of Development for the Museum of Television and Radio Museum of Television and Radio, American museum that chronicles the evolution of radio and television; opened in New York City as the Museum of Broadcasting in 1976. It is in effect the first public library devoted to the electronic media. , the Managing Director of Development for the Gay Men's Health Crisis The Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) is a non-profit, volunteer-supported and community-based AIDS service organization that has led the United States in the fight against AIDS. , and the Director of Major Gifts for the United Jewish Appeal--Federation of Jewish Philanthropies.

In addition to her development experience, Ms. Guttag has extensive political consulting Political consulting is the business which has grown up around advising and assisting political campaigns, primarily in the United States. As democracy has spread around the world, American political consultants have often developed an international base of clients.  experience and served as Chief of Staff to Geraldine Ferraro.

Ms. Guttag is the Secretary of the Board for the 92nd Street YM-YWHA.

She is a graduate of Syracuse University.
