New centennial scholarship.

A new Nursing Education and Research Foundation (NERF) scholarship has been established to mark NZNO's centenary in 2009 and the establishment of regional trained nurses' associations.  Award for Excellence in Practice, named after a former Department of Health Division of Nursing Director, will be awarded for five consecutive years beginning this year, to co-incide with the establishment of the Wellington (2005), Auckland (2006), Dunedin (2007) and Christchurch (2008) regional trained nurses' associations. In 2009, these formed the National New Zealand New Zealand (zē`lənd), island country (2005 est. pop. 4,035,000), 104,454 sq mi (270,534 sq km), in the S Pacific Ocean, over 1,000 mi (1,600 km) SE of Australia.
