"More and more organizations are developing comprehensive business recovery plans to ensure they'll be operational, even when a disaster occurs. Comdisco is providing the technology infrastructure Charlotte area businesses need to protect the entire flow of information running in their organizations."

At the grand opening, Thursday, June 20, Comdisco professionals will provide recovery facility tours and customer representative, Ed Sarama, managing director of finance security and administrative services at JM Family Enterprises, Inc., will give his perspective on what it takes to develop a complete Workarea Recovery plan, including achieving management support, the organization's responsibilities, and successful testing techniques. "What's appealing about Comdisco's multiple Workarea Recovery facilities is that customers have various locations to choose from to test at and to utilize in the event of a disaster," said Sarama. "For example, our primary recovery facility is in Atlanta. This summer, the Olympics may make Atlanta hotels, transportation and other necessities unavailable. If we needed to recover we could use Comdisco's Atlanta facility, but due to the Olympics, we would have nowhere to stay, and no available means of transportation," he said. "With Comdisco's network connectivity, we can just as easily resume business at another facility such as Charlotte."

Anyone interested in attending the grand opening should call 800-272-9792.

The addition of the new Charlotte recovery facility is part of Comdisco's "Project 2000" growth and technology initiatives. The program represents $300 million in investments through the year 2000 to serve customers' evolving business continuity needs across all platforms.
