New arm, with legs.

Fresh off the heels of naming research guru David Martin its fourth chief executive officer in its 45-year history, Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods announced a handful of promotions and the creation of a new division.

Ross Cranford, a veteran on the creative development side of the business, will head up the new strategic planning side of CJRW, which aims to determine for clients the best route to meeting their needs.

"The goal is to take the best of consumer research, advertising, public relations, video production, interactive media, direct marketing and all that we offer and to develop long-term strategies that create the greatest results," said Stacy Sells Pittman.

Pittman was promoted from director of public relations to senior vice president of strategic planning.

The trickle-down meant longtime account executive Denver Peacock was named to fill Pittman's former role as director of public relations. Peacock was formerly a senior account executive.

Jordan Johnson, the former assistant director of public policy, naturally was officially moved up to director of public policy, an opening left late last spring with Skip Rutherford's move to become dean of the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service.
