New archbishop for Grouard-McLennan.

Grouard-McLennan, AB--Father John Gerard Pettipas, C.S.S.R, (Redemptorist), 56, has been appointed to the Archdiocese of Grouard-McLennan in succession to Archbishop Arte Guimond who turned 75 in May 2006. Born in Halifax, Father Pettipas studied in Windsor ON, Toronto and Hartford, CT. The archdiocese is in Northern Alberta has a population of 44,000 Catholics in 66 parishes and missions served by seven diocesan priests, 19 religious priests, two permanent deacons and 34 religious Brothers and Sisters.
