New appointments at Carl Fischer.


Lauren Keiser has been named chief executive officer of Carl Fischer. Keiser has been with Carl Fischer for nine years, most recently as its executive vice president.

He served as president/CEO of Cherry Lane Music for several years and was president/publisher of Astor Music & Books. Keiser also has worked for Sam Ash Sam Ash was founded in 1924, and is the largest chain of privately owned stores in the United States that sell musical instruments, electronics, and related supplies. Ash Family History  and Alfred Publishing Alfred Publishing is a US sheet music publisher specializing in educational music.

It is one of the largest US publishers, second only to Hal Leonard. It is the largest educational music publisher in the world.

Other changes at Carl Fischer include the appointment of Chris Scialfa as vice president/sales and William Heese as vice president/special projects.

. In his new position, Scialfa is responsible for all of Fischer's sales and marketing efforts.

Heese, former vice president/sales, has assumed the newly created position of vice president/special projects and will be responsible for increasing the use of the Carl Fischer catalog in television and radio commercials, motion pictures and commercial CD recordings. He recently celebrated his fiftieth anniversary in the music business, thirty years of which have been with Fischer.
