The program maps urban ecology Urban ecology is the subfield of ecology which deals with the interaction of plants, animals and humans with each other and with their environment in urban or urbanizing settings.  and measures economic benefits of trees, soils, and other natural resources. The new features improve data management, upgrade stormwater and air quality analyses, and add region-specific results.

"This software will allow more communities to put the value of trees into their decisionmaking process," said Gary Moll, AMERICAN FORESTS' vice president for urban forestry Urban forestry is the care and management of urban forests, i.e., tree populations in urban settings for the purpose of improving the urban environment. Urban forestry advocates the role of trees as a critical part of the urban infrastructure. .
