New York retail leasing headed for record year.


Retail space in the prime corridors of Manhattan is continuing to lease at a fast pace. National chains are still invading New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 in record numbers.

Madison Avenue Madison Avenue, celebrated street of Manhattan, borough of New York City. It runs from Madison Square (23d St.) to the Madison Bridge over the Harlem River (138th St.). In the 1940s and 50s, some of the major U.S.  has some new upper-end European Children's Wear boutiques. One, Jacadi, just opened its doors at 787 Madison Avenue between 66th and 67th Streets. The Dutch chain Oilily, will locate between 70th and 71st Streets.

Also on Madison, Fila expands its presence by leasing the store next to its current location between 69th and 70th Streets. Further up the Avenue, Morgenthal Frederics Opticians' second New York store debuts at 944 Madison between 74th and 75th Streets. Eileen Fisher Eileen Fisher is an American women's retail clothing designer. Her clothing is known for simplicity. In fact, Eileen Fisher has used non-traditional models in print advertisements, including employees of the company.  moves into their second Madison Avenue store at #1039, between 79th and 80th Streets.

 chain of Herman's has leased the Northeast corner of Sixth Avenue. Feast on Mangia's delicious take-out food on the South side of 57th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

In the Grand Central area, Lechter's will soon do business in the Lincoln building The Lincoln Building is an office building located on 60 East 42nd Street in New York City, opposite Grand Central Terminal. It was completed in 1930. The architect was James Edwin Ruthvin Carpenter. It is 673 feet (205 meters) tall with 53 stories and built in neo-gothic style.  at 60 East 42nd Street between Madison and Park Avenues. Cosmetics Plus' new store is already in place at 500 Lexington Avenue at the Northwest corner of 47th Street.

On the Northside of 53rd Street between Madison and Park Avenues, Salon Ziba will open another express hair salon. Steps away, Crabtree & Evelyn will sell its bath and body products at 520 Madison Avenue, between 53rd and 54th Streets.

American Express Travel is renovating their new store at 1185 Avenue of the Americas at the Southwest corner of 47th Street.

Capuccino bars have hit the city with a vengeance - Seattle Coffee Co. at 150 Fifth Avenue at 20th Streets, Cooper's on Columbus between 66th and 67th Streets, and Cafe Milano on Sixth Avenue between 56th and 57th Street.

In Soho, the Italian sports wear manufacturer Replay will open a store carrying men's, women's and children's clothing at 109 Prince Street on the Northeast corner of Prince and Greene Streets. The Nature Company brings its unique product mix to 565 Broadway on the Southwest corner of Prince and Broadway.

At the South Street Seaport The South Street Seaport is a historic area in the New York City borough of Manhattan, located where Fulton Street meets the East River, and adjacent to the Financial District. The Seaport is usually considered a historical district, distinct from the neighboring Financial District. , Liz Claiborne is planning a two-level store at 133 Beekman Street.

On the Upper East Side, Country Road, Australia's 4th Manhattan outpost will be on Third Avenue between 66th and 67th Streets.
