 Times Co. (New York) has launched an online version of its "DealBook" business daily e-mail newsletter. The new online service will be published weekdays and carries news, analysis and commentary on Wall Street and the financial industry. Editorial covers such topics as mergers and acquisitions, private equity, hedge funds hedge fund, in finance, a highly speculative, largely unregulated investment device. Originating in the 1950s, the funds "hedge" by offsetting "short" positions (borrowing a security and then selling it at a higher price before repaying the lender) against "long" , venture capital, IPO's, investment banking and legal and regulatory reg·u·late
