New York City's Fine Motor Auction & Luxury Lifestyle Expo Offers Buyers an Unprecedented Collection of Rare and Historical Cars.

NEW YORK -- Beginning on September 9th car enthusiasts will have the first-ever opportunity to view and purchase luxury automobiles and motorcycles from the largest and most distinctive collection of rare vehicles ever assembled for auction in Manhattan. The inaugural Rand/Workman Fine Motor Auction & Luxury Lifestyle Expo at Manhattan's West Side Pier 94 (at 54th Street) on September 9, 10 and 11 will exhibit more than 250 exotic, classic, new and custom cars and motorcycles.

Featuring vehicles ranging from historical to modern, the auction boasts numerous notable cars including the 1938 Maybach SW38 Two-Seat Roadster featuring a disappearing convertible top (only one of two in existence), which has never before been available for auction or for public viewing. Also making automotive history is the "the world's most valuable muscle car:" the1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, which may realize as much as $5 million dollars at this special auction.

Among the cars crossing the auction block is a 1907 American Underslung Roadster, one of only six prototypes, valued between $400,000-$600,000. Also at auction is the exotic show winner, a 1967 Bizzarrini P-538 one of only two in existence, worth in excess of $800,000, the 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster, the only one of five made available in the US (valued at $1.8 million) and a concept car, Quicksilver by Ghia, which toured throughout the world for several years and was studied as an inspiration for future car design when it was purchased by Ford. Additionally, the auction will feature cars of historical significance such as the sale of John F. Kennedy's Jr.'s 1988 Thunderbird, the car he drove during his college years - the proceeds from this sale shall be donated to charity. On display and on the auction block, from the entertainment industry, comes the world famous Batmobile from the "Batman Returns" movie and the General Lee from the "Dukes of Hazard" television series.

Nearly all vehicles up for auction range in value from $100,000 to $5,000,000, and boast celebrity owners as well as many being declared in concours condition. Along with an incredible line-up of rare Ferraris, Porsches, Aston Martins, Lamborghinis, guests will have the opportunity to bid on motorcycles from luxury makers including Ducati, Mitch Bergeron Customs, Harley Davidson, Boss Hoss and Ecosse Heretic. Auction values for motorcycles range from $40,000 to over $100,000.

The event encompasses all things luxury, featuring fine jewelry, watches, premium wines and cigars, home theater and audio equipment, and private jets, all of which will be available for purchase. Guests can learn about the luxury services of companies Abercrombie & Kent, Marquee Concierge and enjoy exclusive experiences such as wine tasting from Acker Merrall & Condit and chocolates from DeBauve & Gallais. Attendees may also test their golf swing and car racing skills on the latest indoor simulators.

Rand/Workman's line-up of events for the three-day affair includes an auction of sports & entertainment memorabilia and premium wines by America's oldest wine merchant, Acker Merrall & Condit.
