Gene Washington (born January 14, 1947 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama) was a NFL player for many years who played for the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit
, the Director of Football Development for the National Football League, to the Board of Directors of New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of

Washington is to fill the Board seats of the Bank and Holding Company vacated by Ronald H. McGlynn, president of the investment advisory firm of Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn Inc. McGlynn, who served as a director since 1990, resigned for personal reasons. Patrick E. Malloy III, the chairman of Home Federal, said "for the past six years Ron McGlynn's guidance has been exceptional; he will be missed. We all wish him well."

A graduate of Stanford University, Washington was an All-American receiver while at Stanford and later became wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers
    The San Francisco 49ers are a professional American football team. The team plays its home games in San Francisco, California, while the club's headquarters and practice facility are located in Santa Clara, California.
    . He was named to the Pro Bowl four times. His career also includes television sports reporting and commentation. Prior to joining the National Football League as Director of Football Development, he was assistant athletic director at Stanford. Washington serves on the boards of various corporate and civic organizations and had served as a director on the board of the former First Enterprise Bank in Oakland, Calif., while a resident there.

    As Washington joins the board of directors, Malloy said, "We are delighted to have Gene join us and look forward to his contribution as a board member as we continue to grow our franchise."
