Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 2000

Unigen, a leader in the design and manufacture of memory products, today announced the introduction of two new Graphics Performance Accelerator (GPA GPA

) cards designed specifically for Intel(R) 815e chipset motherboards. Results from benchmark testing using Ziff Davis 3D WinBench 2000 showed that the Unigen GPA modules boost graphic performance by 26.8%.

Unigen has designed and tested two GPA modules complying with the Intel(R) GPA specifications and reference designs. The 2Mx32 GPA card (part no. UGA UGA

UGA1T32A6GW-PL) uses two 1Mx16 SDRAM components.

GPAs -- originally called AIMMs (AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) A high-speed 32-bit port from Intel for attaching a display adapter to a PC. It provides a direct connection between the card and memory, and only one AGP slot is on the motherboard.  Inline Memory Modules) -- are memory cards that plug into the AGP slot on Intel(R) 815e chipset motherboards to reinforce the onboard video cache by providing 4MB of local memory. The cards are designed to operate with a 32-bit wide SDRAM controller running at 133 MHz.

"It's all about performance in today's memory market. Unigen has concentrated on offering the highest performance memory products available, and our innovative series of GPA cards has continued that commitment by setting a new graphics performance standard for 815e chipset motherboards," stated Paul W.
