New Tool for Indie Producers to Sell Pilots.

There's no place like home. And for independent television producers, home is TV-Pilot.com, the first Internet website to allow independent producers to post their pilot productions online. Now, producers can present their pilots as streaming video clips and showcase their work to potential buyers around the world.

TV-Pilot.com was developed by the Global Association of Independent Television (GAIT), the first organization designed solely to support and promote the production and distribution of independently-produced television.

"For the independent television producer, TV-Pilot.com allows their productions to be sampled 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year by a worldwide audience," claimed Brian Nash, president and founder of GAIT. "No longer will an independent producer have to wait for a conference, festival or trade show to get their productions in front of potential buyers. Instead, the activities of the annual GAIT Festival can now take place year-round in the virtual community of TV-Pilot.com," he continued.

TV-Pilot.com offers a unique independent pilot production database allowing buyers to search for programming based upon the specific criteria they select. When searching the database, users can add the productions in which they are interested into a "My Order Log," which will remember programs of interest from the previous times the user logged in.

TV-Pilot.com is not just for programming buyers. Agents and managers can use the database to hunt for fresh talent from previously untapped sources, re-package a television production with some of their already existing clientele or assist an independent production being developed. Advertisers have the opportunity to identify shows to which they may wish to attach themselves during the early stages of development.

Exclusively featured on the site is Cynthia Turner's newsletter, "Cynthia Turner's Cynopsis," comprised of unique content developed for independent television producers around the world and a staple of the industry.

GAIT was established in Los Angeles in 1999 to support and promote the production and distribution of independently-produced television programming. "With advances in technology the promise of low-cost worldwide distribution via the Internet and the increasing number of outlets, we see a trend of an expanding market for independently-produced television programming," remarked Joe Weber, vp of Sales and Marketing for GAIT.
