New Tie-Layer Resins Bond Nylon and EVOH.Two new anhydride-modified LLDPE LLDPE Linear Low Density Polyethylene tie-layer resins for coextruded blown and cast films have been introduced by Equistar LP, Houston. Plexar PX3227 has 1.7 MI and Vicat softening point Vicat softening point is the determination of the softening point for materials such as polyethylene, which have no definite melting point. It is taken as the temperature at which the specimen is penetrated to a depth of 1 mm by a flat-ended needle with a 1 sq. of 82 C. It bonds nylon to ionomers and PE. Plexar PX3236 has an MI of 2.0 and Vicat temperature of 100 C. It bonds polar polymers such as nylon and EVOH EVOH Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol Polymer (chemical industry) to ionomers (including sodium types) and polyethylenes. Both resins are suitable for boilin-bag uses, bag-in-box films, and coex films where LLDPE is the heat-seal layer. PX3227 is also recommended for blow molded mold 1 n. 1. A hollow form or matrix for shaping a fluid or plastic substance. 2. A frame or model around or on which something is formed or shaped. 3. Something that is made in or shaped on a mold. containers that require high drop strength. |
