New Theater Building to add condos.

The New Theater Building at 240 East 10th Street in the Village is staging something new this season -- a 15-story addition with 37 two and three bedroom condominium residences. The building, the first, large-scale residential project to be launched in the East Village this year, is being developed by Jerry Rosengarten and Michael Waldman of New City Associates. Douglas Elliman, the leading residential real estate firm in New York, is the exclusive marketing and sales agent for the building.

The newly built, 17-story condominium, which rises above the well-renowned theater for the New City, includes residences ranging in size form 1,110 to 1,677 square feet. These homes -- only two to four per floor -- offer deluxe open loft-style kitchens featuring birch Shaker-style cabinets and open shelving, store countertops with brushed stainless steal backsplashes, Kitchen Aid stainless steel refrigerator, range and dishwasher, and a garbage disposal. Elegant master baths have stone floors and walls, Kohler 6' soaking tubs and fixtures and pedestal sinks. Second baths ate also beautifully appointed. In addition, residences include individually controlled heat and air conditioning, red oak tongue and groove floors, oversized dual thermopane windows, and washer and dryer hook-ups. All except three units have private terraces or balconies from which owners can enjoy magnificent view of the Empire State building on the North and the World Trade Center towers to the South.
