New Source For Made-to-Print Parts Offers $100 Service Guarantees.

Atlantic Fasteners of West Springfield, Mass. has launched a new Made-to-Print Division and says it guarantees 100 percent customer satisfaction, backed by a $100 rebate credit.

"We've hired a manager with 16 years of experience in engineered products, and teamed him with a mechanical engineer and CAD draftsperson," according to Patrick J. O'Toole, president of the ISO 9002 certified nut and bolt distributor.

He says the trio works with manufacturers worldwide and quotes all kinds of components---not just fasteners. They include laser cut parts; stampings; hot and cold headed product; powdered metal and molded items; deep drawn and screw machined parts; and specialized platings, coatings and metallurgical processes like cryogenic wear treatment.

"For years, we've used many of the same processes on the fastener side of the business, so we understand their relative cost advantages," O'Toole notes. "But lots of customers don't. For instance, the price of a laser cut fan housing can be 1/12 of a traditional stamping and a cold headed jack shaft can come in at 1/5 the price of a screw machined version," he notes. "We actually advertise six, specific guarantees," he notes. "They cover everything from on-time delivery and error-free shipping to call backs when promised and 100 percent satisfaction. If we make a mistake "real or perceived" we issue a $100 credit, no questions asked."

Guarantees stimulate improvement by pinpointing shortcomings, says O'Toole, adding that Atlantic currently averages fewer than 10 credits for every 10,000 orders shipped for a 99.90 percent accuracy, reliability and satisfaction rating.
