The United Scholarship Fund plans on giving away 165 million dollars in scholarships this year to people of all ages and all income levels nation wide. This is one of the largest private scholarship funds ever created to date.

Just about anyone can apply. There are no academic requirements. It will be open to nearly all income-levels.

People who are eligible to apply include students who are looking to attend college (Ivy league, public, state, university, community.) Prep or trade school and parents interested in sending children to private or Catholic school grades Nursery - 12th.

Applicant will have to fill out and submit a 2-page application and send it in to the United Scholarship Foundation.

Applications will be reviewed and selections will be made by Foundation staff and the Foundation board of advisors. The board is made up of teachers, celebrities, professional athletes, politicians, businessmen, doctors, and professors from all over the country.

There will be no strings attached by the Foundation. A requirement may be that students must enroll in a bona-fide educational curriculum, for example. Students may attend a vocational school, college or university in New York, California or anywhere else. The money may be used for tuition, housing or other costs related to the expenses of education.

The Foundation does not have academic requirements. "We want students and parents to know you don't necessarily have to be an honor student to get a good education," a United Scholarship Foundation representative said. "We realize the need is there to help as many students as possible in continuing to provide opportunities."

Scholarship applications will be available on Dec. 10th.

"People are extremely fortunate to have an organization offering this amount of money, and countless number of scholarships," said Marry Shane of the Plainview school district.
