retort

a globular, long-necked vessel used in distillation.
from STEP/FLOW Thermal Processing will make it's first appearance at a UK exhibition at the PPMA PPMA Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association
PPMA Professional Photographers of Mississippi-Alabama
PPMA Professional Property Managers Association
PPMA Pakistan Plastic Manufacturers Association
PPMA Parts Per Million Atoms
 Show 2009.

UK agents F. Jahn & Co. Ltd. will present the SHAKA[TM] on their stand D71.

The SHAKA[TM] retort system is different from conventional retorts in that during processing, the containers are vigorously shaken at a frequency of 100 to 150 cycles per minute. The agitation of the product is made through a horizontal movement of the baskets. This product agitation means that the heat penetration is sharply speeded up. Cycle times can be reduced by a factor of 4 to 6 compared to standard static or rotary retorts.

The reduced process time has a highly positive impact on the quality of the products in terms of colour, taste, vitamin preservation and so on, compared to that usually obtained with static or rotary retorts. The SHAKA[TM] retort can be used with all types of containers currently available such as cans, glass jars, plastic trays and pouches.
