Both products will be optimized to provide maximum throughput and performance when used together, which will have a profound impact on users with low-bandwidth (under 28.8 kbps) connections.

Both companies will also work together in verifying that their products are fully compliant with the industry-standard VRML specification -- the 3D successor to HTML (Hypertext Markup Language (hypertext, World-Wide Web, standard) Hypertext Markup Language - (HTML) A hypertext document format used on the World-Wide Web. Intervista and Paragraph will be publicly demonstrating their VRML products for the first time at the SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics, www.siggraph.org) The arm of the ACM that specializes in computer graphics and interactive techniques. WorldView Product Information:

WorldView is a stand-alone Internet browser that enables real-time 3D manipulation and viewing of 3D "worlds" on the Internet, even without a Pentium-class computer. WorldView works most effectively on the most common PC multimedia configuration: a 486/50 with 8MB of RAM. This is possible through its use of the powerful Reality Lab 3D rendering library from Microsoft -- an API designed specifically for 3D acceleration through software.

Unlike other VRML products, WorldView does not require an existing HTML browser to pull URL URL

addresses off the Internet - it is a complete browser package. WorldView does, however, interface extremely well with Netscape, enabling it to pass URL addresses seamlessly.

WorldView will be distributed in both freeware and supported versions (supported version to be handled by WebMaster Inc., Santa Clara, Calif.) and will be available at no charge to educational sites. The company will begin distribution of beta software in the third quarter of 1995 for all Windows platforms and is also developing versions for the Apple Macintosh and several UNIX systems.

Home Space Builder Information:

ParaGraph International recently announced the availability of Home Space Builder 1.0 (Beta 2), a powerful 3D authoring tool that will accelerate the World Wide Web's evolution from 2D home pages into a virtual reality universe. Beneath the HSB's simplicity lies ParaGraph's proprietary 3D rendering technology and sophisticated multimedia authoring capabilities.

ParaGraph's 3D rendering is considered to be one of the fastest available under Windows for standard personal computers, allowing designers to move and build quickly and naturally.

Multimedia features include integrated text, pictures, sound, movies, MIDI music, and walking shows. Additionally, the designer can link objects within the home space to other Internet sites, creating a unified, three dimensional Internet universe. Home Space Builder is available now on ParaGraph International's Web site. The Beta 1 version of Home Space Builder is free and the Beta 2 version of Home Space Builder with expanded features is available for $49.95.

Company Information:

Intervista Software, Inc. is a pioneer developer in creating 3D visualization tools for the World Wide Web. Intervista has the first standalone, high-performance VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) browser -- WorldView for Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows NT. WorldView was recently selected by Microsoft for inclusion in its Blackbird development package and for use on The Microsoft Network. The WorldView browser is currently available for all Windows platforms and will be released for the Apple Macintosh (680x0 and PowerPC) and a wide range of UNIX systems by fourth quarter 1995)

During the early days of Perestroika, an entrepreneurial group of Russia's top scientists came together with the goal of building a technological and cultural bridge between Russia and the West. This eventually led to the founding of a U.S. company, ParaGraph International, in 1991. In addition to 3D technology, ParaGraph has also developed the world's leading cursive handwriting recognition technology and is a leader in voice/data compression technologies. -0-
