New Product Deters Wrong-Way Drivers; Intelligent Perimeter Systems' Vehicle Alert Detection System Sounds and Flashes Alarm When Vehicle Enters Roadway from the Wrong Direction and Sends Alert to Law Enforcement.

DUBLIN, Ohio Dublin is a city in Delaware, Franklin, and Union counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 31,392 at the 2000 census. In 2006, the population was estimated to be 36,565[1], and Dublin continues to be one of the fastest-growing suburbs of Columbus.  -- Intelligent Perimeter Systems (IPS), a manufacturer of advanced counter-terrorist vehicle barrier and traffic control systems, today unveiled a proprietary safety system designed to detect and deter vehicles attempting to enter a roadway from the wrong direction or at a restricted time.

"We are excited to introduce advanced technology to prevent wrong-way vehicle accidents," said IPS CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Ronald E. Scherer. "This cost-effective system holds the power to alleviate a serious weakness in the design of modern highways."

When it detects an intrusion onto a protected roadway, VADS immediately uses visual and audio alarms to deter drivers, including:

At the same time, VADS sends an alert to law enforcement authorities via radio, cellular or satellite signals.

The system was designed for easy installation and operation at any exit ramp exit ramp n (US) (AUT) → vía de acceso

Powered by a 24-volt system, VADS can operate standard 110V AC or solar power. The option of using solar power allows the system to be installed in areas that lack access to electrical power.
