New President of Tri-C's Eastern Campus Named.
Dr. Miles joined Tri-C in 2000 as the Interim Assistant Dean of Liberal Arts at Tri-C's Metro Campus. A year later she was selected as the permanent Assistant Dean of Liberal Arts, and was appointed the College's Dean of Academic Affairs in 2004.
Prior to coming to Cuyahoga Community College, Dr. Miles served as an academic manager at the Columbia University School of Law in New York; as Project Director of Queens School to Work at LaGuardia Community College in New York; as Administration and Budget Associate of the National Center for Restructuring Education Schools and Teaching (NCREST) at Columbia Teachers College in New York; and as Director of the AIMS/EDGE Programs (focusing on workforce readiness) at Nassau Community College in Garden City, New York.
Dr. Miles holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the City University of New York, a master's degree in Educational Psychology from Columbia University Teachers College in New York, and a doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration from Columbia University in New York.
"Dr. Miles has received numerous awards and recognitions during her tenure at Cuyahoga Community College, clearly demonstrating her excellence in education and service," said Dr. Thornton. "We are delighted that an internal candidate has proven to be the best choice for this critical position."
Dr. Miles will begin her new duties on Monday, December 4th.
