New Partner to Sell Global MAINTECH Software.

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 22, 1999--

Global MAINTECH Corporation (OTC-BB: GLBM) Global Maintech, Inc. has entered into a reseller agreement with a major Compaq/DEC reseller, Gemini Digital Products for the sale of Maintech's Virtual Command Center software system as a replacement product for the discontinued and non-Y2K compliant Polycenter Console Manager program product. Gemini Digital Products is a major national distributor and reseller of DEC products, both new and used. Its sales force maintains a customer contact list of 35,000 which will be the focus of a new mailing, marketing and sales campaign beginning in May.

Brian Waller, CEO and President of Gemini Digital Products, is excited at the prospect of strengthening and broadening Gemini's end-user relationships by extending their services from hardware support and sales to include software and systems management services through the Virtual Command Center (VCC) software system. In addition, Gemini will benefit from the consulting support services of Scott Consulting Corporation, Maintech's product and technical support partner in the Polycenter market. "Our sales team know our clients, and we have provided technical-consultative support to them for all their DEC hardware. Now, we can provide well defined systems management tools, such as the Virtual Command Center," according to Waller. Further, the relationship with Gemini gives Maintech a hardware source for workstations and terminal servers, providing a more complete solution for its customers.

Gemini Digital Products was founded in 1992, is headquartered in Minnesota and has its own technical hardware support staff, warehouse, test and re-manufacturing facilities. Additionally, it is a DEC reseller for all of DEC's and now Compaq's computers and peripheral equipment.

Scott Consulting Corporation is a five-year old technical specialist in the support of DEC's VAX, OpenVMS and Tru64Unix (formerly Digital Unix) operating and computer systems. According to Greg Scott, President of Scott Consulting, Scott Consulting is the largest OpenVMS and Digital Unix consultancy in the Midwest and the firm's technical talent has been associated with DEC for over 20 years. Scott Consulting is functioning as the Product Manager and technical support resource for Maintech's Polycenter product, bringing DEC-specific systems and systems management knowledge to the project, and is providing the technical talent for any custom installation or contract work that may be required in support of specialized installations.
