New Ontario disabilities group forming to promote use of new act.


The Ontarians with Disabilities Act The Ontarians with Disabilities Act is the short title of the Ontario Government's Bill 125 - "An Act to improve the identification, removal and prevention of barriers faced by persons with disabilities and to make related amendments to other Acts".  Committee will cease operations on August 31, 2006 and a new advocacy organization called the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Alliance will take its place.

The AODA AODA Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (treatment programs)
AODA Ancient Order of Druids in America
AODA American Overseas Dietetic Association
AODA Administrative Office of the District Attorneys (New Mexico) 
 Alliance will concentrate its efforts on ensuring that the new statute will be clearly understood by the disability community, and that citizens who care about the removal of barriers are encouraged to participate in the standards development process.

The new organization will also have an advocacy role in communicating with the government, both at the political and the staff level, to assure that the legislation is implemented in ways that will bring about the changes that it was intended for.

The transitional working group is co-chaired by Kelly Duffin, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of The Canadian Canadian (kənā`dēən), river, 906 mi (1,458 km) long, rising in NE New Mexico. and flowing E across N Texas and central Oklahoma into the Arkansas River in E Oklahoma.  Hearing Society, and Orville Endicott, Legal Counsel for Community Living Ontario.
