New OSHA Head Awaiting Confirmation.


As of press time, President Bush had nominated John Henshaw to be Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA. This position is the top safety position at the agency. Both business and labor groups have applauded the selection. At the time of this report, Henshaw is director of environment, safety and health for Astaris, St. Louis, Missouri. The assistant secretary position is subject to Senate confirmation, which is expected to occur this month or in September.
