New Museum in Malaysia Dedicated to Rooibos, the Red Tea.

Dr. Nortier's Rooibos Museum celebrates its grand opening on Saturday, June 10, 2000, in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. In attendance: the South African Ambassador to Malaysia; the First Consulate; Martin Berg, chairman of Rooibos Ltd.; and Marius Kotze, Rooibos Ltd. marketing manager for the Far East.

The museum is designed to fulfil the vision of Dr. Pieter Le Fras Nortier, the South African medical doctor who realized rooibos' therapeutic benefit to the world and its potential as an agricultural commodity. The Rooibos Museum highlights the history, production and uses of rooibos tea, the culture and attractions of South Africa and Dr. Nortier's life. An onsite bistro serves Rooibos recipes.
