New LexisNexis Tax Center Adds Exclusive Insight and Analysis; Introduction of Shepard's Citation Service for Tax Professionals, Company Dossier and Industry Dossier Powers Latest Version of Product.

DAYTON, Ohio -- Adding greater functionality to the LexisNexis(R) Tax Center product, LexisNexis U.S., a leading provider of information and services solutions, today introduced the exclusive LexisNexis(R) Shepard's(R) for Tax Professionals, LexisNexis Company Dossier and Industry Dossier reports to help ensure tax professionals do not miss critical information. These additional resources join the new personalization options as the latest enhancements to the LexisNexis Tax Center offering introduced in April.

The new features complement the LexisNexis Tax Center combined content from leading tax publishers and the ability to conduct a single search across an exclusive combination of content from CCH(R), Tax Analysts(R), Kleinrock, Matthew Bender(R) and other sources, such as premium information unavailable from any other online provider.

"The additions to Tax Center deliver more than data alone; they provide exclusive insights and analysis that tax professionals need," said Charles Ter Bush, vice president and managing director, Tax and Accounting, LexisNexis. "We've established a solid foundation with Tax Center and continue to build on it."

Stay Current with Shepard's(R) Signal(TM) for Tax Practitioners

Only LexisNexis Tax Center uses Shepard's(R) Citations Service to ensure customers are relying on the most current law and IRS materials available. The addition of Shepard's Signal indicators gives tax practitioners a quick and easy visual reading of the Revenue rulings, Private Letter Rulings, Revenue Procedures and case law case law n. reported decisions of appeals courts and other courts which make new interpretations of the law and, therefore, can be cited as precedents. These interpretations are distinguished from "statutory law" which is the statutes and codes (laws) enacted by legislative bodies, "regulatory law" which is regulations required by agencies based on statutes, and in some states, the Common Law, which is the generally accepted law carried down from England. to help users determine if points of law and rulings are still valid, a feature especially valuable in today's demanding regulatory environment.

To save time and highlight the most critical information, users can view a Shepard's Summary at the top of the Shepard's Report to provide a brief overview of why a document received a particular signal. Shepard's Signal indicators include green for law that is still current, red for points of law that have been overturned, and yellow for instances where questions about a case exist.
