New LCP/PPS alloys target complex parts.

Two new LCP/PPS alloys are said to combine the properties of both materials to meet the demands of complex electrical, electronic, and industrial components. Vectra V140 and V143XL from Ticona, Florence, Ky., are said to improve on PPS (Packets Per Second) The measurement of activity in a local area network (LAN). In LANs such as Ethernet, Token Ring and FDDI, as well as the Internet, data is broken up and transmitted in packets (frames), each with a source and destination address.  by nearly eliminating flash while also providing better flow at relatively low injection pressures and high strength in thin walls. They also have mold temperatures of 80 to 120 C, versus the 135 C typical of PPS.

, the new alloys offer higher weld strength and less warpage in many designs. The new alloys retain the physical and mechanical properties of LCP and PPS. For instance, Vectra V140 has ultimate tensile strength tensile strength
